In 2005, Enchantment of the Seas entered dry dock at shipyards in Rotterdam for an extensive overhaul. The vessel was "stretched" by cutting it in two amidship and adding a 73-foot (22 m) long section. The ship was back in service less than two months after entering dry dock.
