P&O's Pacific Dawn is scheduled for a refurbishment in April 2012, when she will receive features to bring her more in line with her sister ships and made more family-friendly.

Upgrades will include the addition of a giant LED screen, a feature which has proved popular on the Pacific Jewel and Pacific Pearl. The Bengal bar will become an Orient Pub, with sporting memorabilia and a blokey selection of beers and ciders, and the Baccus Bar will transform into the Mix Cocktail Bar for the ladies. The Show Lounge will have a general spruce-up, as will the buffet.

To aid families in cruising together, a range of cabins will be interconnected so parents and children are within easy reach. The 50 suites and mini-suites onboard will be freshened up and be given artwork by Sydney photographer Tony Rae.

These features are hits on the other P&O ships, and parent company Carnival Australia hopes that the refurbishment will make for an even more enjoyable cruising experience on the Pacific Dawn.
